Our Story

1951 Ethan W. Hitchcock founded Hitchcock Shoes in Hingham, Massachusetts after recognizing the need for shoes made specifically for wider feet.
1956 Hitchcock grew into a thriving mail-order catalog business, serving thousands of customers looking for wide footwear.
1967 Evelyn F. Hitchcock continued the tradition, expanding the company’s offering of wider widths, new lasts, and additional styles.
2014 Hitchcock introduced the Wide Shoe Closet for Women, bringing our wide-width expertise to an expanded women’s collection.
2025Hitchcock joins the Drew Shoe Corporation family and strengthens its assortment with more sizes then ever before.
